You may already know the fact that carbon steel wok also need to be seasoned before it gets use like cast iron. The same goes for cast iron wok as well so which one is more famous and are popular? Well every cook get attached to their woks and both have their own strong opinions. There are so many cooks who don’t use any kind of wok other then carbon steel. This wok is more economical, lighter, durable, and last but not least easier to take care. How to Clean Carbon Steel WokĬarbon is another most preferred and popular wok by far. To avoid this, heat up a wok on medium heat for a while and when you become 100% that it become completely dry, cool it down and keep it wherever you want to. The wok can become a rusty if you keep water on it. The last step is optional and its up to you but we recommend you to follow this one also. Try to dry it completely and make sure all the water is gone before you store a wok in somewhere. Gently pat your wok down with a soft towel. Same as before run water again and make sure run water completely until water coming off the wok clear. Since we don’t use any detergent, we are totally relying on a physical force of the rag to remove the food the stick with it. The purpose of wiping again once more is to make sure nothing was missed. Repeat the same process of rubbing it down with a soft rag once again. Rinse your wok off with water then and make sure all the bits of food are completely removed from its surface and then wash it with water. The cast iron is a hard metal, but after rubbing for sometime it will begin to flake off and then oil and seasoning will come off it and make sure you have used hard cloth for rubbing. The next step is to take a soft cloth and start rubbing down every part of your wok. 2- Wipe Your wok with a soft clothĪfter 10 min when you put it out of water, you will see that the wok loosed the bacteria and food. Keep the wok for 10 minutes in hot water and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. The hot water soaking allows to soften small food particles or the food which has been stick on the surface of the wok. The first step is to simply take the wok and keep sink it in a hot water (not too much hot, that burn your skin). Remember, the oil is not a bad thing and you want to keep that layer there. When you’re done cooking, the wok will have a layer of vegetable and oil on it. The material is not made to be scrubbed with a cleaner. When it comes to cast iron wok, it is bit heavier and you have to give it a bit more attention to take care of.Ĭast iron is porous material that needs to be seasoned before it gets used and we must have to be a bit more careful when cleaning a cast iron wok to avoid the chances of removing the seasoned layer or from damaging.īefore start cleaning a cast iron wok the point you need to know is not to remove all the oil but simply just remove the food and bacteria. The reason for its popularity is it tend to heat the food more evenly and we get more flavor from cooking in a cast iron wok. Cast iron wok is known as one of the best wok and many chefs prefers it over carbon steel wok. There’s no indicator on the mouse itself, and Razer’s Synapse software only has an itty-bitty battery icon in the top-right corner of each settings pane. Razer doesn’t make it easy to check the Basilisk X HyperSpeed’s remaining charge. The mouse hasn’t died on me after roughly 30 hours of use. Razer claims the Basilisk X HyperSpeed can offer up to 285 hours when using the dongle connection (HyperSpeed) or 450 hours if using Bluetooth with a single AA battery. Unlike the rest of the Basilisk lineup-and what seems like darn near every other Razer peripheral-the Basilisk X HyperSpeed doesn't have any RGB lighting. There's enough onboard storage to save the CPI levels and those assigned inputs too, in case you don't feel like installing Razer Synapse on a PC you're using on a temporary basis. The Windows software makes it easy to set up to five sensitivity levels, choose the Basilisk x HyperSpeed's polling rate and assign functions to its six programmable buttons. The CPI switch beneath the scroll wheel also makes it easy to cycle through the sensitivity levels you've set with the Razer Synapse 3 beta companion app. In terms of the Basilisk X HyperSpeed's features, you can switch between wireless modes with a, well, switch located on the bottom of the mouse. Bonus: I didn’t have to worry about any cable tangling. I found the Basilisk X HyperSpeed comfortable to use for prolonged gaming sessions. Sure, I missed a few (dozen) flicks with the AWP, but that’s not its fault. Some people will never be convinced that a wireless mouse can be as reliable as a wired one, but in my experience, the Basilisk X HyperSpeed performed as well as the Basilisk V2 in competitive shooters like CS:GO. The mouse performed well in the titular HyperSpeed 3.4 GHz wireless mode, and I didn’t notice any missing, delayed or otherwise incorrect inputs either. I'm perfectly content with the Basilisk X HyperSpeed's available buttons. The same goes for Razer Hypershift, which effectively doubles the number of programmable buttons by switching between profiles. If you don’t have use for a bunch of side buttons, losing five programmable inputs between the Basilisk V2 and the Basilisk X HyperSpeed isn't much of a disappointment. It's hard to believe most gamers would push either of these sensors to their limits. I set every mouse to 1,600 CPI for daily use, so long as the tracking is good at that setting I don't particularly care how much higher the sensitivity can go. In practice, however, the upper limits of a sensor's CPI support don't matter if you use a lower CPI setting. On paper, the Basilisk V2 should be superior because its Focus+ sensor can support up to 20,000 CPI to the Basilisk x HyperSpeed's 16,000. That is the dirty little secret when it comes to gaming mouse specs: most people won't notice a significant difference between different models. The Basilisk X HyperSpeed also felt similar to the Basilisk V2 when I played games. Otherwise, they’re nearly identical, both being right-handed mice targeting palm and claw grips with two side buttons and a thumb guard that feature Razer's preferred black-on-black-on-black color scheme. The Basilisk X HyperSpeed and Basilisk V2 have similar layouts, but the former lacks one CPI switch, the tilt scroll wheel buttons and button underneath for controlling scroll wheel resistance. Since I preferred that model over the DeathAdder V2 (and other mice), it’s not surprising I liked using the Basilisk X HyperSpeed for long periods as well. Those are the same dimensions as the Basilisk V2. It measures 5.11 x 2.36 x 1.65 inches (L x W x H) and weighs 2.9 ounces if you exclude the battery. Luckily, the Basilisk X HyperSpeed is comfortable to use for extended periods. The other current Basilisks use the Razer Focus+ optical sensor with up to 20,000 CPI, 650 IPS and 50G. The Basilisk x HyperSpeed also opts for the Razer 5G optical sensor, which supports up to 16,000 CPI, 450 inches per second (IPS) and 40G acceleration. It only boasts six programmable buttons and features Razer mechanical mouse switches that rated for 50 million clicks, while the optical ones used in the other Basilisk mice have a 70 million click rating. Unfortunately, the rest of the Basilisk x HyperSpeed's design is a clear downgrade from the other current Basilisk mice. People shouldn't have to worry about switching out the battery often. But that's unlikely-Razer said that a single AA battery lasts up to 285 hours (HyperSpeed) or 450 hours (Bluetooth) of continuous use (more on that in the Battery Life section). That lack of wired support is likely to worry some folks, especially if they fear their Basilisk X HyperSpeed's battery will die when they don't have a backup. In the early films, camera tricks were used to make Myers appear nearly seven feet tall. While many fans have countless problems with both remakes, few people take issues withMane’s portrayal of the character. Next, that brings us to Tyler Mane, who played Michael Myers in both Rob Zombie’s Halloween the follow up effort, Halloween II. The only fault with Michael is the mask, which had too much effort put into it and looks too fan-made and too precise. The Canadian stunt man had a physical consistency with Chris Durand and kept some of the classic physical traits. It had a lot of problems, but Brad Loree’s performance as Myers wasn’t one of them. Laurie Strode is unceremoniously killed off at the beginning of this film, after which the plot shifts to a webcam reality show that has taken up residence in the Myers home. The film tried to capitalize on the popularity of the (then new) Internet and starred Busta Rhymes in a leading role. The seventh picture may have served as a great finale, but that didn’t stop the studio from making one more. Loree played Michael Myers in the eighth installment, Halloween: Resurrection. Despite the mask controversy (there were numerous different masks used on Michael in this film) Durand does a great job and brings back a lot of physical ticks from the earlier films. In terms of performance, Durand does an effective job playing opposite Curtis. Jamie Lee Curtis reprised her roles Laurie Strode after twenty years and faced off against Michael one more time – seemingly bringing an effective end to the series. He played the character in Halloween H20, a movie that was liked by critics but was not particularly well received by fans. And the man behind the mask does just as fine as any other.Ĭhris Durand is probably the most underrated actor to ever to don the Michael Myers mask. It was too big, too bulky, with a distracting and overhanging neck. The mask worn by Shanks was not very well liked by fans. Still, Shanks gives his best effort with a slow and creeping performance. While it has a fan base, it’s certainly not touted as one of the best in the franchise. Love Real Life Ghost Hunting Shows? Although it was years later, Wilbur would be the first person to play the Myers twice when he reprised the role in 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. He really plats up the physical aspects of the character. People have a little less love for the mask used in the film, though, which was due to a last minute mix up. It proved to by a wise decision and Halloween 4 is an atmospheric and fun movie. WilburĪfter a seven year absence, the producers decided it was time for a fourth Halloween film to resurrect Michael Myers after the box office failure that was Halloween III. While it did not feature Michael Myers, Warlock did return to play an actual robot in Halloween III: Season of the Witch. While he may be stiff at times, in some ways he’s the liveliest actor to play the part. His posture is incredible and there are some physical moments that are now iconic. He’s a tall, lanky figure that makes for a great silhouette. Dick Warlock brings a lot to the character. Some fans think he was too robotic as Myers, while others say that he was one of their favorites to take on the role. Dick Warlock took over the role in 1981’s Halloween II and did a fine job with it. The person speaking will have a white ring appear around their video while they’re talking, and users will be able to select a grid view to see the other people on the call, which seems quite similar to Zoom. This functionality might not translate well to smaller devices like an iPhone, but could be interesting on devices like an iMac. For example, there is a skill with my mage where he can cast a large fireball down on enemies, engulfing those who are standing next to each other. They’re simple and quick to claim.Ī big positive about the upgrades is that there are cool skills that you get access to, and they dictate how you develop your strategy of approach. The upgrades are so easy to obtain, as they can come from battle and other areas. The longer you play the game, the further you get, and the more skills you unlock. As you progress in the game and fight enemies, you gain XP, which leads to upgrading your characters and opening new skills. Sticking with simplicity, the game’s backend carries those same traits. Anyway, it proves that simplicity is fine. Zombies was that type of game, and it was huge on the PC when it came out. Sometimes you want a simple game that works well enough to enjoy in small doses. The faster you get back from failure, the more you’ll keep playing. The developers don’t want you to put down that iPad or iPhone. These are the attributes of a successful iOS game. The controls are simple (mouse usage is your main point of contact), the decision-making in the game is quick, and when you perish in the game, you can get right back into the action. The game has iOS written all over it, and that’s expected considering where it was born (guess). It does everything right but stumbles in a few areas. Legends of Kingdom Rush is a fun turn-based game at its core. That type of story with those types of characters makes for a marvelous time.ĭoes that make for good gameplay? Yeah. The devs make the characters fun, give them great dialogue, even if it’s corny sometimes, and put them on a path that will motivate any player wanting to simply go on an adventure. That alone helps to push beyond the typical ‘hero saving the day’ storyline that has been used since the dawn of video games. I give the folks at Ironhide Game Studio some major kudos for making this an over-the-top narrative with some charm. Along the way, you meet companions that want to join your quest and you keep drudging through wave after wave of enemies until you reach a destination where a marvelous boss awaits you. Yes, we’ve heard this story before, but it still feels fun and fresh, and most of all simple. There is a good bit of evil in the world taking over and you’re the only hero to vanquish it. The beginning of the game has you break out of prison and storm your way outside of the enemy’s castle. While these might be positives, the negatives come in an unbalanced and random combat system that might frustrate even the most dedicated turn-based fan out there. Zombies vibe that keeps the frustration nearly at bay. This turn-based combat game has a colorful palette, a cute and amusing collection of characters, a simple combat system to work from, and a somewhat Plants vs. Legends of Kingdom Rush plopped on my desk almost a month ago and we have had an on-again, off-again relationship. It has been a while since I have had a pure turn-based combat game to review. Unlike “all-air” air conditioning systems that circulate cooled air only, hydronic radiant systems circulate cooled water in pipes through specially-mounted panels on a building's floor or ceiling to provide comfortable temperatures. Radiant systems that use water to cool the radiant surfaces are examples of hydronic systems. ASHRAE defines radiant systems as temperature-controlled surfaces where 50% or more of the design heat transfer takes place by thermal radiation. Radiant cooling is the use of cooled surfaces to remove sensible heat primarily by thermal radiation and only secondarily by other methods like convection. The top metal disc reflects the radiant heat onto a small area. An example of the overhead radiant heaters are the patio heaters often used with outdoor serving. Radiant heating systems may be gas-fired or use electric infrared heating elements. Outdoor radiant heaters allow specific spaces within an outdoor area to be targeted, warming only the people and objects in their path. Even in a no-wind condition, the buoyancy effects will carry away the hot air. Relying on convection heating is in most cases impractical, the reason being that, once you heat the outside air, it will blow away with air movement. In the case of heating outdoor areas, the surrounding air is constantly moving. Radiant overhead panels are mostly used in production and warehousing facilities or sports centers they hang a few meters above the floor and their surface temperatures are much higher. The maximum temperature of the heating surface can vary from 29–35 ☌ (84–95 ☏) depending on the room type. This provides an improved room climate with healthier humidity levels. Since their heating surface is much larger than other systems, a much lower temperature is required to achieve the same level of heat transfer. Underfloor and wall heating systems often are called low-temperature systems. Underfloor heating systems- electric or hydronic.Radiant heating/cooling systems can be divided into: One of the key advantages of radiant heating systems is a much decreased circulation of air inside the room and the corresponding spreading of airborne particles. The internal air temperature for radiant heated buildings may be lower than for a conventionally heated building to achieve the same level of body comfort, when adjusted so the perceived temperature is actually the same. The heat energy is emitted from a warm element, such as a floor, wall or overhead panel, and warms people and other objects in rooms rather than directly heating the air. Underfloor radiant heating has long been widespread in China and South Korea. Mixed radiation, convection and conduction systems have existed since the Roman use of hypocaust heating. An example is the Austrian/German cocklestove ( Kachelofen), a type of masonry heater. Radiant heating heats a building through radiant heat, rather than conventional methods such as radiators (mostly convection heating). Designs with radiant heating are seen as replacements for conventional convection heating as well as a way of supplying confined outdoor heating. It is the method of intentionally using the principles of radiant heat to transfer radiant energy from an emitting heat source to an object. Radiant heating as a technology is more narrowly defined. Heating by radiant energy is observed every day, the warmth of the sunshine being the most commonly observed example. Radiant heating is a technology for heating indoor and outdoor areas. For snow melt applications see: Snowmelt system. For high temperature indoor or outdoor radiant heating, see: Infrared heater. Moderate temperature radiant heating and cooling is usually composed of relatively large surfaces that are internally heated or cooled using hydronic or electrical sources. This article mainly addresses radiant heating and cooling with moderate source temperatures, used to heat or cool indoor environments. Within this category, it is practical to distinguish between high temperature radiant heating (devices with emitting source temperature >≈300 ☏), and radiant heating or cooling with more moderate source temperatures. According to some definitions, a technology is only included in this category if radiation comprises more than 50% of its heat exchange with the environment therefore technologies such as radiators and chilled beams (which may also involve radiation heat transfer) are usually not considered radiant heating or cooling. There are many subcategories of radiant heating and cooling, including: "radiant ceiling panels", "embedded surface systems", "thermally active building systems", and infrared heaters. Radiant heating and cooling is a category of HVAC technologies that exchange heat by both convection and radiation with the environments they are designed to heat or cool.
